* DEPENDING ON NUMBERS, GIRLS AND BOYS WILL POTENTIALLY BE IN SEPARATE GYMS. THERE ARE NO GAMES PLAYED AT MY CAMP - STRICTLY DRILLS AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT. THIS A WEEK OF INDIVIDUAL IMPROVEMENT, SO IT REALLY MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHO ELSE IS WITH YOU. BOYS AND GIRLS CAN BOTH EXCEL IN THE SAME GYM, DOING THE SAME DRILLS. BASKETBALL IS THE GREATEST GAME IN THE WORLD, NO MATTER WHO IS PLAYING.

CAMP SUMMARY

Under the direction of former University of North Carolina Tar Heel and Conestoga graduate Dewey Burke, we celebrate the 2008 Dewey Burke Skill Development Camp. In our second year of existence, our two simple goals remain the same: First is for the camper to have a positive and enjoyable camp experience. The second goal is to improve as a basketball player.

The way you improve your game is simple; you must get in the gym and put it the time necessary to refine and improve your offensive, defensive and all-around skill sets. The Dewey Burke Skill Development Camp is designed to teach the young player how to improve on their own in the gym, on the playground, or in the driveway. So often people believe you need someone else with you to get the proper work done. This camp will teach many drills and exercises you can do by yourself to improve your overall performance.

Campers are exposed to an unmatched resource. A member of the 2007 North Carolina Basketball Team that was the ACC Regular Season and ACC Tournament Champion as well as the #1 seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament, Camp Director Dewey Burke learned a tremendous amount playing for Hall Of Fame coach Roy Williams. As a member of the Carolina Basketball Team and Family for 4 years, the experiences and lessons Burke can impart are invaluable. The individual drills you will learn come directly from the workouts Burke did as a member of the Tar Heels, as they were taught by Williams and fellow Hall of Fame Coach, Dean Smith.

Make no mistake, this is not your average camp. Campers will work hard for 3 hours each day, and receive excellent instruction they can take with them.
